San Jose Jazz Winter Fest 2016

San Jose Jazz has hosted the annual San Jose Jazz Winter Fest for the last 25 years.

It is a non-profit organization that seeks to enrich the community through music education and live performance in and around the San Jose area. Since its beginnings in 1986, the organization together uses music to bring together and build a more vibrant community.

San Jose Jazz works with international stars, emerging artists, local acts and regional players. During the summer there are over 100 performances on 13 stages over the course of the three-day festival. The Winter Fest presents a diverse group of performances, usually in late February and early March. This year’s Festival dates are February 25-March 8, and takes place in various locations in downtown San Jose and Palo Alto areas. The lineup includes a diverse group of leading jazz artists including, but not limited to: John Scofield and Joe Lovano, Regina Carter, Nicholas Payton, and Delfeayo Marsalis. The Jazz Beyond series, co-curated with Universal Grammar, presents rising young stars pushing the boundaries of jazz, soul and hip-hop, including Kneedelus, Kadhja Bonet and King.San Jose Jazz Winter Fest 2016

In addition to the annual programming, the San Jose Jazz also has a music education program that benefits thousands of students each year. Through the youth program the organization is committed to providing performance and instruction in classrooms. The educational programs are highly-regarded locally and regionally and include a research-based program for at-risk students, a high school program that is audition-based that ensemble and small combo performances in high-profile gigs, a summer jazz camp and opportunities for students to perform on the Next Gen Stage at the summer festival.

Tickets for both Festivals and future festivals can be purchased online at sanjosejazz.org. For 250.00, The Winter Fest ALL STAGES patrons can get an all-in-one easy pass. The ALL STAGES pass ($250 per person) provides access to all of the Winter Fest programming. A savings of more than $120 off of the listed ticket prices and fees if bought individually.

Individual tickets are also available and range from $10-$55, depending on the performance.
